* Thermalite™ Plantation Shutters are different than most
other synthetic shutters available. Aluminum reinforcing is used to give internal strength allowing wider panels up to 36″ wide to be manufactured.
This provides for a very strong, rigid, durable shutter that will not bow, warp, peel, crack, or sag. 

• Thermalite™ Shutters are highly resistant to the environment and are a great
choice for areas that will get wet such as showers and bath rooms .

* Many Composite Wood or Polywood Shutters are limited to panels
around 28 inches wide. Thermalite™ plantation shutters panel are available upto widths up to 36 inches wide. ( 2 1/2″ louvers are not available in this width)

* Thermalite™ Shutters are screwed together at the joints of the stile and rail. The simple but efficient construction detail allows any damaged components to be easily replaced.

* Self tensioning pins are used to position the louvers these prevent the louvers from sagging and not staying in the required position .

The Shutter components

The rails and stiles ultilize an aluminum core that is co-extruded into the solid polymer material. This provides exceptional strength, rigidity and durability. It makes them so strong that Thermalite™ Shutters can be built with individual shutter panels up to 36 inches wide (excluding 2 1/2″ louvers) By using multiple panels and T-posts, almost any window can be covered. Hidden tension pins prevent the louvers from working loose and sagging. Panels can be made in different arrangements such as a ‘cafe’ style, double hung, by fold and by pass. Hidden tilt bars can be used to maximize the view when open.

Repairs

The screw together construction makes the shutters easily repairable. Of course, it takes a lot to damage Thermalite™ Shutters , but if someone was successful in doing it, repairs are possible. If, for some reason we cannot carry out the repair on site we can expidite a repair to the factory. Not only do Thermalite™ Shutters have the hidden aluminum reinforcing, but they also have a harder outer finish which is resistant to dents and scratches. They also have self tensioning louver pins, so you never need to adjust the louver tension.

Maintainance

With Thermalite™ Shutters baked on finish, the only way they usually get dirty is if dust settles on them. An occasional dusting is all that is needed. Even if someone with greasy hands touches them, there is no need to worry. Unlike wood interior plantation shutters, Thermalite™ Shutters can be cleaned with almost anything BUT we recommend ‘Simple Green’ organic cleaners to remove dirt and grime.
